New Oblivion Content For The Evil Players

blivion fans will soon have even more content to explore in the already enormous game world. On July 13th  for the price of some new shoe laces ($1.89), the Vile Lair will be available and will be tailored to the more evil characters out there.. This underwater hideout will be a safe place where you can recoup while laying low.

 

Features:
- A multilevel lair for murderous players to find refuge
- The Font of Renewal, where a player may purge himself of Vampirism
- The Shrine of Sithis where the infamous player may heal and be cured of disease
- A Dark Minion, who the player may employ to find gold in a most unseemly manner
- A 'cattle pen' for vampires to dine
- An indoor garden of venomous plants, including the notorious Chokeberry to feed to your enemy
- Various furnishing upgrades, including a study room and storage area

Bethesda has done one heck of a job of taking advantage of the downloadable content feature on the Xbox 360. Horse armor aside, you can really get some great new content to add to your adventure through Cyrodiil.

If you weren’t already overwhelmed with the dizzying array of content contained in Oblivion, through the main questline and various downloads, look out—Bethesda is poised to release its Shivering Isles expansion pack. We spoke with Oblivion’s Executive Producer Todd Howard about the expansion, and he gave his take on downloadable content and a little Fallout info, too.
 
Oblivion PS3 Delayed To Q1 2007

In what ended up being an 11th hour surprise, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was the last PlayStation 3 launch game to be announced. Now it looks like that’s not going to be the case. Bethesda is delaying the PS3 version of Oblivion to the first quarter of 2007. But that doesn’t mean PC and Xbox 360 gamers will have to wait for the additional Knights of the Nine content.

The Thieves Den Released For Oblivion

Bethesda recently released more downloadable content for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion titled The Thieves Den.  This new content is targeted towards stealth based characters and allows players to rediscover Dunbarrow Cove as well as the pirate ship The Red Sabre.

The content costs 150 Marketplace points, or $1.89.  For more information, head to the Oblivion Downloads page.

 
Elder Scrolls IV Rating Bumped Up To Mature

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has changed the rating assigned to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion from T to M. The content causing the ESRB to change the rating involves more detailed depictions of blood and gore than were considered in the original rating, as well as the presence of a locked-out art file or "skin" that, if accessed through a third party modification to the PC version of the game, allows the user to play with topless versions of female characters.

Despite the mixed reviews from Elder Scrolls fans concerning the $2.50 horse armor upgrade, Bethesda is pushing forward with additional downloadable content. A recent post on the Elder Scrolls forums describes the two new additions in detail.
 
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion To Hit March 20

Bethesda and 2K Games today announced that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has gone to gold master and will be available in stores in North America and Europe during the week of March 20. Oblivion will be available for Xbox 360 and PC in both regular and collector’s editions.

Take-Two Announces Financials, Oblivion Officially Delayed

Take-Two Interactive Software today announced revised revenue and earnings guidance for fiscal 2005 and fiscal 2006.  Take-Two is reducing its fiscal 2005 guidance to reflect several factors, including the movement of the launch of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories for the PSP in certain European territories from the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005 to the first quarter of fiscal 2006, due to unexpected delays in final product testing and submission. Shipments of the title have been made to the UK in the fourth quarter, with the title expected to ship in the remaining European territories in late November.

Bethesda Game Studios announced today an all-star voice cast for their upcoming title Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.   The cast will include such notables as Patrick Stewart (X-Men, Star Trek: The Next Generation), Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings, National Treasure, GoldenEye, Patriot Games), and Terence Stamp (Star Wars: The Phantom Menace), and Linda Carter (Wonder Woman, Sky High, Dukes Of Hazzard).
