ame Informer Magazine's June issue will feature the world-exclusive, first look cover story of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Game Informer Magazine will unveil the first look at one of the year’s most anticipated and closely guarded gaming titles today at the 2004 E3 Expo in Los Angeles. Advance copies of the magazine are available at Game Informer’s booth, located at the entrance to the West Hall.
While there won't be an ounce of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas leaked at E3 2004, the first place in the world that you'll be able to get details is in Game Informer Magazine.
“Rockstar has really raised the bar on the franchise with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, said Matt Helgeson, senior associate editor at Game Informer. “It is one of the most ambitious titles we’ve seen to date in its amazing scope, graphics and environments – gamers are going to find out the facts of this game are even more amazing than the hype and speculation.”
“This first-look coverage of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a tremendous benefit for Game Informer’s 1.4 million paid subscribers, because they won’t be able to find this type of in-depth coverage on this highly anticipated sequel, this early or this complete, in any other magazine or media,” said Cathy Preston, Game Informer Magazine's publisher.
“We’re setting worldwide publishing records with this magazine,” Preston said, adding that 25 of the last 27 Game Informer cover stories have been world-exclusives of the industry’s biggest titles, including recent covers featuring Halo 2 and Resident Evil 4. Game Informer featured the exclusive Resident Evil 4 story well in advance of the Japanese media, Preston said, noting that it was “the first time a U.S. publication led with a major Japanese-developed game.”
The June issue of Game Informer hits newsstands May 21. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is expected to land in stores in October 2004, launching exclusively on the PlayStation 2.
