Final Fantasy XI Expansion Announced

he latest issue of Famitsu Weekly announced today that they are hard at work on an expansion for both the PC and PS2 versions of Final Fantasy XI, entitled Final Fantasy XI: Chains Of Promathia.

The game is currently slated to release in Japan this Fall and players who may not have played or purchased the first title will still be able to play the expansion, since the stories between the two games are not directly connected. The expansion will feature 40 new areas as well as number of new modes of transportation, including flying vehicles. Currently, however, there's no word on whether the expansion will feature new job classes or skills.

We'll bring you more details as soon they become available.
