n a recent article in the Asahi Shimbun in Japan, Sony decried the upcoming sales of UMD pornography that is slated to release in July.
Currently, adult content providers Glay'z and H.M.P. plan to seven adult UMD titles that month, with other companies expected to soon jump on board.
Speaking to the newspaper, Sony feels that adult-oriented UMD titles are "utterly undesirable, but we cannot stop software makers from selling such videos." In quite a pickle, Sony Computer Entertainment holds the approval rights for software titles, but has no say in approval for UMD movie titles. As such, Sony has no legal recourse to deny or halt the sales of adult-oriented UMD movies.
