Spore Release Date In Sight?

n the latest issue of Game Informer, we mentioned how Spore had been “delayed indefinitely” – something that EA has thankfully denied. While CEO John Riccitiello has indeed recently said that the game was “right up [to] the bubble in Q4 [of fiscal ‘08], if not early fiscal ’09,” the game does intend to come out in that time period and is not in any sort of release date freefall. Riccitiello said he had confidence in the game and that it looked "fantastic." Robin Chandler, senior director of North American PR for EA clarified the confusion, telling us, “There is absolutely nothing new to report since our Q4 earning call.”

We’ll keep you posted.
